Withdrawal speed is becoming the real differentiator

For years, crypto sportsbooks competed on bonuses. The problem with that competition is that bonuses are difficult to compare: wagering requirements, time limits and game weightings vary so widely that a headline figure tells you little. Withdrawal behaviour is harder to dress up.

A venue that processes payouts promptly, without unexplained holds or demands for further documents, is offering something concrete. Wallet-only, self-custodial platforms such as Dexsport settle to the user's own wallet, which changes the nature of the question: the constraint is the chain and the contract, not an internal approval queue.

This does not make any venue risk-free. Smart contracts can be exploited, and a self-custodial model shifts certain responsibilities to the user, including key management. But the comparison is fairer, because the speed of settlement is observable rather than promised.

Bettors increasingly seem to weigh this over promotional offers, and the shift is sensible. A bonus that is difficult to clear is worth less than a payout that arrives when expected.
