Reading a sportsbook's coin list carefully

A crypto sportsbook's list of supported coins is usually presented as a single set. In practice, deposit and withdrawal support can differ, and the difference is easy to miss until a payout is requested.

Some venues accept a wide range of tokens on deposit but convert them internally, paying out only in a smaller set. Others support a coin on one network for deposits and a different network, or none, for withdrawals. A few list assets that are effectively deposit-only, which is a significant constraint if the balance is intended to be moved.

The consequences are practical. A user who deposits in a token that cannot be withdrawn may be forced to convert at an unfavourable rate, or to withdraw in a different asset altogether and bear the price exposure. Either way, the terms determine the outcome.

Before funding an account, it is worth reading the deposit and withdrawal sections separately and checking the network for each asset. The information is usually published; it is simply not always prominent.
